Dedicated to providing unique insights from renowned speakers in the fields of nanotechnology, the WNC is inspiring the next generation of shapers in this field. As the Conference Chair, I oversee all high-level components of conference planning and ensure that the team is in sync. This involves determining the conference theme, maintaining internal/external affairs, and organizing meetings. In previous years, our conference has attracted over 300 attendees globally and we heard from 21 speakers to provide insights into 3 key areas of nanotechnology: health, information technology, and the environment.
As an Engineering Ambassador on the Waterloo Engineering Student Ambassador Team, I am committed to give prospective students a personal and informative connection to Waterloo Engineering. Through volunteering as a guide at the Engineering Fall Open House, to speaking at virtual EngChats, I am proud to be sharing my experiences at Waterloo and giving back to our community.
With the desire to help improve the quality of life of patients, I am honoured to be a part of the UW Stem Cell Club as an executive member. We work towards raising awareness about stem cell donation and recruit to match stem cell donors. As an executive, I recruited over 50 potential donors at our drive by educating campus students and staff. I learned to promote outreach events and plan the logistics to spread the ongoing need for stem cell donors.
