How it all started

I was exposed to the art of piano at the age of five. The unique sounds that echoed with just the touch of a key drew me in. At this time, the piano was my canvas to explore and have fun with. I couldn't wait for my weekly group lessons where I got to showcase a piece I learned to the group. At such an early age, I developed a fond for piano.

Long nights and long days

As time passed, I began to rigorously practice the art and skill. Lesson after lesson, competition after competition, and exam after exam. It was a constant cycle of these three milestones. Playing at the piano for hours in one sitting was the new norm and lessons at 10:30 pm became a thing. Balancing my academics and piano was challenging, but I was able to come out of it with stronger time management, earned perseverance, and a sharper concentration.

Worth meriting

Despite the long nights and early mornings, practicing piano gave me a new escape. I was able to seek creative expression and voice emotions with my music. Once the fundamental basis was built, I started to use piano as an outlet for self-expression. I wouldn't have had the relationship I have today with piano without the patience and determination to keep going. Piano has taught me innumerable lessons and I am always finding myself learning more.
